I grew up in Minneapolis and had numerous influences around me. I started with the piano when I was 7, then added the trumpet at 9. I had friends that all wanted to play the guitar and were into Metallica, so the first song I learned was "One." From that point on, I played the guitar nearly every day.
The first live guitar performance of mine was in 1991 at a talent show outdoors in south Mpls. Since then I have played over 1,000 shows with bands such as 49.01, Blameless Days, Onehitter, and The What 4?, along with solo shows. I have played in the Duluth Homegrown Music Festival 10 times and counting.
My inspiration comes from Mpls, to Los Angeles, to Mexico, to Ireland, to Cuba, to New Orleans, to Nashville. It's ever changing, and I'm always listening.
